(Reuters) – Messaging app Telegram will launch a paid subscription plan for its customers this month, founder Pavel Durov stated on Friday.
Users who will go for Telegram Premium will get a better restrict for chats, media and file uploads, Durov stated in a blogpost.
“The only way to let our most demanding fans get more while keeping our existing features free is to make those raised limits a paid option,” he stated.

The app, together with messaging software Signal, have seen a rise in customers following privateness issues with bigger rival WhatsApp, owned by Meta Platforms Inc.
