Thieves break into Rani Mahal – Scindia’s Jai Vilas Palace in Gwalior

Unidentified individuals allegedly broke into Rani Mahal, part of Jai Vilas Palace, belonging to the Scindias, the erstwhile rulers of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, police mentioned on Wednesday. According to the police, they’re but to determine what was stolen and what number of thieves entered the premises.

Jai Vilas Mahal is a nineteenth-century palace established by Jayajirao Scindia, the erstwhile Maharaja of Gwalior in 1874 and is at present owned by BJP chief Jyotiraditya Scindia. 

On receiving data from Rani Mahal that thieves had entered a room of the palace, a police group and canine squad had been rushed to the spot, metropolis superintendent of police (CSP) Ratnesh Tomar mentioned.

The thieves had allegedly entered the room by means of a ventilator and disappeared, he mentioned.

It was suspected that the thieves could have damaged into the palace both on Monday or Tuesday evening and slipped into the room, which used to function a financial institution, an official mentioned.

The staffers have knowledgeable the police that each one the belongings in the room are mendacity untouched, he mentioned.

The police are additionally questioning the staff on the premises in the matter, the CSP added.
