Newly-appointed Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel stated on Saturday he was shocked at being supplied the place.
Tuchel, 49, has changed the sacked Julien Nagelsmann in command of the six-time Champions League winners.
Nagelsmann misplaced his job on the German champions on Friday with the Bavarians second within the desk however he had guided them to subsequent month’s quarter-finals in Europe’s top-tier competitors.
Tuchel, was fired from Chelsea in September regardless of guiding them to the 2021 Champions League and spoke to Bayern bosses late on Tuesday.
“Believe me or not, I used to be a bit dumbstruck within the first 30 seconds of our first dialogue,” Tuchel told reporters.
“I didn’t know what we were talking about. It became clear that it was for right now.
“I was completely surprised. The timing was surprising. There was no contact beforehand,” the previous Paris Saint-Germain boss added.
Tuchel’s first match will come as quickly as April 1 after the continuing worldwide break.
Bayern will meet league leaders Borussia Dortmund, the membership that Tuchel led from 2015-2017 earlier than he left for PSG.
“It’s the (massive) match in German soccer,” he said.
“It has another level of importance,” he added.
