At a time when states are battling the covid-19 disaster, three workers of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) have been kidnapped by unknown armed militants from a rig web site in Assam on Wednesday.
In its official Twitter submit, ONGC mentioned: “Three ONGC employees, 2 Junior Engineer Assistants (Production) & a Junior Technician (Production) have been abducted by unknown armed miscreants in the early hours of 21 April 2021. The abduction took place on a rig site of ONGC in Lakwa field of Sivasagar District (Assam).”

The kidnapped workers have been taken by the miscreants in an operational automobile belonging to ONGC. Later, the automobile was discovered deserted close to the Nimonagarh jungles near the Assam-Nagaland border. A grievance has been lodged by ONGC with the native police, mentioned the corporate.
Meanwhile, increased officers of the State Police are on the positioning. The native administration has been knowledgeable concerning the incident and ONGC is in fixed contact with the upper authorities.
Since the Nineteen Sixties, the corporate is exploring and producing oil and gasoline within the Upper Assam area.

It is just not the primary time for the state to witness such abduction. However, as per the report, there was no demand for ransom or something thus far. The abduction has taken place within the early hours of Wednesday.
