New Delhi: Times Group chairperson Indu Jain on Thursday breathed her final resulting from issues arising out of the Covid-19 an infection in Delhi on the age of 84.
Jain was Chairperson of The Times Group and The Times Foundation, which she based. The Times Foundation runs Community Services, Research Foundation and Times Relief Fund for catastrophe reliefs like floods, cyclones, earthquakes and epidemics.
She was additionally the founder president of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO). Jain was additionally the chairperson of Bharatiya Jnanpith Trust, which awards the celebrated Jnanpith award.
She was awarded the nation’s third highest civilian honour Padma Vibhushan in 2016.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the Times Group chairperson’s demise and stated “she will be remembered for her community service initiatives, passion towards India’s progress and deep-rooted interest in our culture”.
“Saddened by the demise of Times Group Chairperson Smt. Indu Jain Ji. She will be remembered for her community service initiatives, passion towards India’s progress and deep-rooted interest in our culture. I recall my interactions with her. Condolences to her family. Om Shanti,” he tweeted.
