TNPL 2023:  Nellai Royal Kings and Dindigul Dragons emerge victorious against Madurai Panthers and Ba11sy Trichy

Ok.B. Arun Karthick (32, 12b, 4×4, 2×6) and Nidhish Rajagopal (42, 26b, 1×4, 4×6) steered Nellai Royal Kings to a six-wicket win over Siechem Madurai Panthers within the TNPL on the Sri Ramakrishna CAS grounds right here on Wednesday.

Earlier, Panthers selected to bat. But, it didn’t go in response to its plan because the Kings had opener S. Karthick and Deeban Lingesh inside the primary six overs.

But skipper C. Hari Nishaanth, who watched all of it occur, first solid a bond with Washington Sundar and later went on the hunt.

He knew it was his accountability to regular the ship and he did that with an assured knock of 64 (51b, 4×4, 3×6).

Nishaanth demonstrated the type of confidence that one typically sees him play on this floor right here. He stitched a 49-run stand for the third wicket with Sundar and continued to guide the battle with a 30-run partnership with J. Kousik which got here off 25 balls to guide the restoration.

However, when Nishaanth fell to left-arm spinner S. Mohan Prasath (three for 26), one of the best of the bowlers, the glint was misplaced and the workforce managed a meagre 126 for eight.

It was not sufficient because the Kings’ openers Arun Karthick and Impact Player R. Sri Neranjan scored quicker as common within the PowerPlay. After they fell in fast succession, Nidhish took over and noticed the workforce cross the road with consolation.

No sweat

In the second match of the day, Dindigul Dragons defeated Ba11sy Trichy by six wickets. Dragons, which boasts of a star-studded line-up, had no issues in overcoming a goal of 121 set by the Trichy workforce.

Though Dragons misplaced an early wicket, Shivam Singh (46, 30b, 6×4, 3×6) and B. Indrajith combined warning with aggression and added 60 for the second wicket to arrange the platform for the win.

Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy (three for 21) was the choose of the bowlers for Dragons.

Ba11sy Trichy 120 in 19.1 overs (Ganga Sridhar Raju 48, R. Rajkumar 39, Saravana Kumar 2/17, R. Ashwin 2/26, Subodh Bhati 2/8, Varun Chakravarthy 3/21) misplaced to Dindigul Dragons 122/4 in 14.5 overs (Shivam Singh 46).
