Tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh will not be harassed for COVID-19 negative test report, says CM 

Tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh will not be “harassed” for a coronavirus negative test report on the state’s borders, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated on Tuesday. Days after the state authorities introduced making it obligatory for individuals coming from seven worst-affected states to point out a COVID-19 negative test report on getting into the state, Thakur stated they’ve put in place a mechanism for monitoring vacationers on their arrival on the place of their keep.

“We have taken care of our tourism industry to ensure it does not suffer this session as the coronavirus pandemic affected it last year. So, in the SOP released for the industry, we have put in place a mechanism to monitor it accordingly. Tourists and other visitors will not be harassed by stopping for corona reports on the state’s borders because it causes a lot of inconvenience and difficulty to them,” he instructed reporters.

As a majority of the guests will keep in motels, the administration has put in place a mechanism to test the guests from the seven states on their arrival on the place of their keep, he added.

The Himachal Pradesh authorities on Sunday made it obligatory for individuals coming from seven states which have witnessed a spike in coronavirus circumstances to point out a COVID-19 negative test report on getting into the state.

Thakur had stated then that individuals coming from Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh want to hold a negative RT-PCR report not sooner than 72 hours whereas visiting Himachal Pradesh from April 16.

The chief minister arrived in Dharamshala this morning from Shimla on a day’s go to. 

He will preside over a high-level assembly to evaluate the coronavirus scenario within the Kangra district and its surrounding areas.
