Sabarimala: In a tragic accident, as many as 64 individuals had been injured, some severely, as a bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Tamil Nadu fell into a gorge in the Pathanamthitta district on Tuesday. The accident occurred when the bus carrying pilgrims was returning after darshan at Lord (*64*) temple in Sabarimala, they stated.
A complete of 64 individuals together with 9 kids and two employees had been on board when the bus veered off the highway and fell into the gorge in Elavunkal close to Kanamala Naranamthodu at round 1.30 PM.
The injured pilgrims had been shifted to the hospitals by the police, fireplace and rescue officers and locals. The Pathanamthitta District Public Relations Department stated the pilgrims are from the Mayiladuthurai district in Tamil Nadu.
11 pilgrims have been shifted to Government Medical College
In a Facebook put up, State Health Minister Veena George, who coordinated the rescue operations with numerous departments stated 11 pilgrims have been shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Kottayam. Police stated 48 pilgrims had been dropped at the General Hospital, Pathanamthitta. Medical consultants from Government Medical College Hospital, Konni, reached the General Hospital to supply correct medical care.
Some injured pilgrims had been taken to a hospital at Erumely. Those who suffered minor wounds had been discharged, officers stated. State Ministers together with George, Agriculture Minister P Prasad and Devaswom Minister Okay Radhakrishnan visited the injured pilgrims on the hospital right here.
Quoting the preliminary evaluation of the officers from the Motor Vehicle Department, Prasad stated the accident occurred as the motive force misplaced management of the bus resulting from brake failure.
