Two held with illicit liquor in A.P.’s Madanapalle


The Madanapalle II-Town police on Monday arrested two individuals and seized 15 litres of illicit liquor from them in two separate instances.

Inspector S. Murali Krishna stated Madaka Nagaraju (35) was taken into custody with 5 litres of liquor when he was promoting it to folks close to Chowdeswari Devi temple in the city. In the second case, Chalapati of Gowthami Nagar was nabbed when he was promoting liquor close to the tomato market yard; ten litres of the liquor was seized from him.

The two have been booked and was later remanded. The inspector stated surveillance had been stepped in rural areas to stop brewing of illicit liquor.

Youth murdered close to Madanapalle

A 25-year-old youth from Tanakallu in Sri Satya Sai district was killed allegedly by a gang of unidentified youth at a gas bunk on the outskirts of Madanapalle on Sunday night time. The deceased, Akram, labored as a welder in Madanapalle city. On Sunday night, he went to a border village in Karnataka to buy liquor. While returning, he had an altercation with a number of youth on the gas pump. The gang then chased Akram and beat him to dying, in keeping with police.

Man dies throughout work

A 30-year-old employee beneath the NREGS died reportedly of exhaustion at a worksite close to Yarravaripalle mandal headquarters in Tirupati district on Monday.
