New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has paused an important facility on altering Aadhaar card address with out address proof till further notice.

For the convenience of the Aadhaar card customers, UIDAI has allowed the facility to replace their address within the absence of doc proof. Aadhaar card holders had been allowed to replace their address –the place they’re presently residing –with the consent and authentication of the address verifier. The address verifier might be aa member of the family, relative, buddies or landlord, who’s keen to let the Aadhaar card holder use their address as proof.

However, this facility has now been halted by UIDAI. Replying to an Aadhaar Card consumer, UIDAI has tweeted that the facility to change address in Aadhaar Card utilizing Address Validation Letter facility has been discontinued till further notice.
