Ujjwala Yojana: There is sweet information for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana forward of Diwali. According to media stories, they might get extra subidies on the LPG cylinders. The sources mentioned the federal government is getting ready to present relief to the beneficiaries of the scheme (Ujjwala Yojana) earlier than the Lok Sabha elections subsequent 12 months and amidst competition season.

At current, these beneficiaries get a subsidy of Rs 300 on 12 cylinders in a 12 months. A choice on extra relief beneath the Ujjwala scheme could also be taken within the coming months.

Relief from inflation for frequent man 

According to the media stories, the federal government is planning to present relief to the frequent man from the inflation. The relief effort is being made by the federal government at a time when the value of petroleum merchandise is excessive within the worldwide market due to geopolitical pressure.

However, in accordance to Livemint information, when info was sought from the Petroleum Ministry and Finance Ministry on this information via e mail, no response was obtained from them. 

Earlier, on October 4, the Union Cabinet had authorised a subsidy of Rs 100 for 9.5 crore Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries. Before that in September, the federal government had authorised a subsidy of Rs 200 on LPG fuel cylinder for all basic clients throughout the nation. 

At current, beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana pay Rs 603 for a cylinder, whereas the common buyer pays Rs 903 in Delhi.

The authorities had began the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana within the 12 months 2016 for the poor to present relief from conventional oven which cuases  smoke. The authorities has just lately launched Rs 7.5 crore for the 12 months 2024-26 and extra Rs 1650 crore for offering free cooking fuel connections beneath the Ujjwala scheme.
