UP: 17-year-old dies after ‘police thrashing for violating corona curfew’; constable suspended

A 17-year-old boy died Friday after he was allegedly overwhelmed up by the police right here for “violating” the continued ‘corona curfew’ within the state, his household claimed, following which a constable was suspended and a homeguard jawan sacked.

The incident befell in Bhatpuri locality in Bangarmau space when the boy was promoting vegetable exterior his home.

The police stated in an announcement that an FIR might be registered towards the policemen concerned and all the matter probed.

His household alleged that the boy was caught by a constable for allegedly violating ‘corona curfew’ and thrashed with a stick.

He was later taken to a police station, the place he was once more thrashed following which his situation deteriorated and he was rushed to the Community Health Centre, the place he was declared lifeless, the household alleged.

Agitated with the police motion, the locals created a jam at Lucknow highway crossing, demanding motion towards the responsible, a authorities job and compensation for the sufferer’s household.

Later, the police stated in an announcement, “Constable Vijay Chodhury has been suspended with immediate effect in the matter and services of homeguard Satyaprakash have been terminated. The entire matter will be probed and an FIR will be registered against the policemen.”

The Uttar Pradesh authorities has imposed ‘corona curfew’ within the state until 7 am on May 24 to curb the unfold of coronavirus instances.
