In a significant crackdown towards gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, Uttar Pradesh STF, on Saturday, arrested his close aide from Mohali. According to the sources of India TV, the police arrested Jugnu Walia alias Harvinder from his Mohali-based residence late at evening.
Earlier, police had raided a number of places so as to arrest the fugitive felony held on a number of homicide costs together with a restaurant proprietor in Lucknow.
It is value mentioning earlier final month Ansari, his brother and BSP MP Afzal Ansari have been sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years and 4 years, respectively in a 2007 Gangsters Act case.Â

After listening to the arguments of each side, the courtroom reserved its choice which was pronounced final month.
Mukhtar is presently lodged in Banda jail. He had been an MLA for 5 consecutive phrases from the Mau Sadar meeting seat within the neighbouring Mau district of Uttar Pradesh.
The gangster-politician didn’t contest the 2022 meeting elections and his seat was gained by his son Abbas Ansari from the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).Â
