President Joe Biden’s administration has introduced it’s cancelling a proposal by his predecessor Donald Trump to restrict scholar visas to a four-year time period for students from India and most different nations.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed the choice on Tuesday and mentioned that it will additionally drop the proposed limits on visa for journalists.

The DHS reported that those opposing the time limit said “would significantly burden the foreign students, exchange scholars, (and) foreign media representatives” and “impose exorbitant prices.”

“Higher education groups were alarmed by the plan to change the policy, which, they argued, would create uncertainty and confusion for students who would have to navigate a burdensome and costly new reapplication process in order to continue their studies in the US,” Inside Higher Education reported.

The companies that wrote in towards the proposal mentioned that “many noncitizens will not be ready to apply for an extension of keep or have it authorized in a well timed vogue, thereby delaying the attainable begin dates of staff and/or trigger them to lose potential job candidates,” the DHS added.
