Uttarakhand BJP Chief Gets Guard Of Honour, DIG Calls It ‘Misunderstanding’


With the Uttarakhand Police drawing flak for giving Guard of Honour to newly-appointed state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Madan Kaushik, Bageshwar Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nilesh Anand Bharne has stated it was a “misunderstanding”.

The prime cop’s comment comes because the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters had sought a report with regard to the episode. The incident came about when Kaushik, a fourth-term MLA from the Haridwar meeting constituency, visited Bageshwar after taking up because the Uttarakhand BJP chief.

The opposition events within the hilly state cornered the ruling BJP on the Guard of Honour controversy stating the saffron get together was misusing its powers and added all officers throughout Uttarakhand had been beneath strain from the current regime.

This came about amid speculations that 68-year-old Bhagat could also be inducted as a minister within the authorities led by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat.

Earlier on Monday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat examined optimistic for coronavirus. Newly sworn-in Chief Minister took to Twitter to tell that after testing optimistic for COVID he’s in dwelling isolation.
