Dixon Technologies, a number one digital manufacturing providers firm, has unveiled its slicing-edge smartphone manufacturing plant in Noida, inaugurated by Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The facility, operated by Padget Electronics Private Limited, a Dixon subsidiary, is poised to supply Xiaomi smartphones, bolstering India’s native smartphone manufacturing panorama.

Representing a decisive transfer in the direction of enhancing Domestic Value Addition in smartphones, the ability, constructed at a value of Rs 256 crore, spans 2.7 lakh sq. toes and is supplied with a manufacturing capability of 25 million models yearly.

Sunil Vachani, Executive Chairman at Dixon Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the ability’s superior infrastructure, underscoring its significance in fortifying native smartphone manufacturing. “It is a momentous step towards our commitment of boosting the local smartphone manufacturing system in India. We believe that this association will leverage our excellence and superior execution and Xiaomi’s expertise & leadership in the Indian business ecosystem,” Vachani acknowledged.

Atul Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Dixon Technologies, emphasised the collaboration’s significance in nurturing a strong know-how ecosystem and advancing native manufacturing. “We have a five-year long association with Xiaomi India, and are excited to start this new chapter that exemplifies synergy between our two organizations,” he added.

Union Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the ability’s position in producing employment alternatives, estimating the creation of 5,000 jobs. He attributed this progress to the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which has contributed to producing 5 lakh jobs throughout the smartphone trade.
