Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress Spokesperson Sachin Sawant demanded a state-level inquiry into the problems with ventilators offered by the Centre to Maharashtra after a committee of medical consultants appointed by the Government Medical College at Aurangabad discovered the ventilators to be non-functioning.

Sawant tweeted about these points and referred to as the ventilators below PM CARES to be an enormous rip-off.

“Committee of Medical experts appointed by Govt Medical College in Aurangabad found all ventilators provided under #PMCares to the institution useless. As per their report, even company technicians could not repair those. It is a big scam,” Sawant tweeted.

In a collection of three tweets, he took a dig on the Centre by saying the Modi authorities made the company corporations to donate in opaque funds. “We demand state level inquiry into all ventilators provided by centre to Maharashtra. Time & public money wasted through #PMCaresFund is unpardonable. Modi govt made all corporate companies to donate in this opaque fund. It was seen that information under RTI can not be sought,” Sawant added.

The Maharashtra Congress Spokesperson condemned this ‘rip-off’ and alleged that the Modi authorities has given contracts to the defunct corporations. “Modi govt kept evading questions. Now after this report people must know how & why such useless & defunct companies got this contract. It’s inhumane to even think of profiteering let alone scam in this biggest ever crisis. Strongly condemn!” he concluded.
