New Delhi: Iconic radio character and the voice behind ‘Geetmala’, Ameen Sayani, passes away on Tuesday evening. The legendary radio presenter was rushed to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai after the center assault, the place he finally breathed his final. His son Rajil Sayani confimed the information on Wednesday.
Rajil Sayani talked about, “The doctors at the hospital attended him but couldn’t save him, and he was declared dead.” The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, with the household awaiting the arrival of some kin in Mumbai at the moment.
Born on December 21, 1932, in Mumbai, Ameen Sayani gained fame over time for his melodious voice and fascinating model. Initially beginning as an English-language broadcaster, he later transitioned to Hindi. Ameen Sayani turned famend for his immensely widespread radio present ‘Binaca Geetmala,’ a program that performed a pivotal function in popularizing radio listening in India.
