Manik Sarkar, the Opposition chief of Tripura and former Chief Minister was attacked with stones in Tripura. According to sources, Sarkar together with CPI(M) MLAs and leaders at Shantirbazar, South Tripura had been allegedly attacked with stones pelted by the BJP supporters on Monday.  

A delegation of CPI(M) MLA and leaders went to shantirbazar to go to the homes of CPI(M) supporter, who had been brutally attacked and their homes had been ransacked by the BJP supporters on fifth could after they noticed Karl Marx’s birthday.

Party alleged that the police forces had been discovered silently standing throughout the incident.

BJP MP from West Tripura constituency tweeted saying that the assault on chief of opposition in state is unlucky.  

CM Biplab Kumar Deb has constituted an Enquiry committee beneath South District SP to look into this matter and submit the report inside 48 hrs.

This just isn’t the primary time that such incidents of violence have taken place in Tripura.
