Donning a blue t-shirt and khaki pants, Rahul Gandhi reportedly spent 10 minutes swimming and taking lapse in the sea alongside the fishermen before returning to the shore.

Later, Rahul Gandhi shared videos and photos of his experience on his social media account. Taking to the Instagram, Congress leader said, “Every morning our nation’s fisherfolk work tirelessly to provide for millions of Indians. The work they do is difficult & painstaking but incredibly rewarding.

It was an honour & a privilege to spend time with them & experience just a fragment of the hard work they put in.”

In the shared video, Rahul Gandhi was seen jumping from the boat when he saw some fishermen jumping into the sea after casting their net to catch fish.

As he undertook a sea voyage, he also participated in pulling the net with local fisherman in high sea. Rahul also enjoyed breakfast with them on the boat.

Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with the fisherman was aimed to outreach the huge community working in fishery in the state. While speaking with them, he assured to include their needs in its election manifesto and even claimed of having a ‘dedicated’ ministry for them.

“No one speaks for you in Delhi. So the first thing I would like to do is to have a ministry dedicated to the fishermen of our country. So that your issues can be defended and protected in this country,” he said.
