As per experiences, the incident occurred on Monday evening when Yadav visited two marriage halls and ordered their closure for violating the evening curfew order issued underneath Section 144 of CrPC.

District and police officers mentioned that after getting the knowledge of the violation of the evening curfew laws and SOPs, Yadav raided two marriage halls within the metropolis the place numerous individuals comprising males, ladies and kids attended the wedding events late on Monday evening.

In the video which is being extensively shared on social media, the DM is seen dragging the groom and priest by the collar at a wedding corridor and ordering the police to arrest all attendees for violating COVID-19 norms.

While talking to media current on the spot, Yadav additionally alleged {that a} part of policemen who had been hand-in-glove with the wedding events allowed holding the ceremonies blatantly violating the federal government orders.

“All these people are highly educated but they did not follow the norms amidst the alarming rise in coronavirus cases. These same people on the other hand will accuse the government of doing nothing. I also suggest suspending the officer-in-charge of the West Agartala police station,” the IAS officer said.

Authorities have imposed a corona evening curfew in Agartala Municipal Corporation space from 10 p.m. to five a.m. from Thursday onwards.

The order mentioned that in closed areas, a most of fifty per cent of the seating or corridor capability must be allowed for any social, cultural, leisure or political gathering with a ceiling of 100 individuals whereas in open areas, increased numbers could also be allowed based mostly on the scale of the bottom with a ceiling of 200 individuals.
