The nation`s prime wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat together with different grapplers have reached Jantar Mantar to protest towards the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh but once more.
A protesting wrestler instructed IANS that as many as seven girls grapplers together with a minor have tried to lodge a criticism at Parliament road thana however “the police officers refused to file an FIR”.
“We are getting threats from several quarters and after waiting for more than two months, we tried to file a complaint at thana but police officers shooed us away. We don`t know what is happening here. We will start our protest again and sitl on dharna at Jantar mantar till our demands are met,” wrestler mentioned.
IANS had final month acknowledged that the protesting wrestlers, can re-start their agitation towards Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Sources near the wrestlers instructed IANS, that the grapplers felt “cheated” and will resume their protest until Brij Bhushan is sacked.
Notably, an Oversight Committee underneath the chairmanship of legendary boxer MC Mary Kom continues to be wanting allegations levelled by the wrestlers towards WFI, its president and training workers of psychological and sexual harassment, earlier this 12 months.
The Committee can also be taking care of day-to-day functioning of the federation as Brij Bhushan was requested by the Sports Ministry to not intervene.
