New Delhi: Award-winning Malayalam actress Lakshmi Menon has been linked to a high-profile case involving the alleged abduction and assault of an IT professional.
According to multiple media reports, video footage allegedly shows the actress at the scene, along with others who were seen blocking the road and behaving aggressively. A report by ET stated that the victim, a young man, was dragged out of his car and forced into another vehicle. The incident reportedly occurred on the night of August 24.
The IT employee was allegedly kidnapped and beaten. Police officials said the charges were filed based on information suggesting that the actress was inside the car used by the kidnappers.
The actress is reportedly absconding at present. According to reports, Ernakulam Town North Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case: Mithun, Aneesh, and Sonamol.
Officials stated that Lakshmi Menon was also present with the group at the time of the abduction. The police are still searching for the actress, who is believed to be in hiding.
The motive behind the abduction is reportedly a dispute that occurred between two groups at a bar. Following the argument, the IT employee was allegedly attacked, forced into a car, and taken away.
Who is Lakshmi Menon?
Lakshmi Menon was born on 19 May 1996 and is known for her work in Tamil cinema. She began her acting career with the Malayalam film Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya (2011) and played her first lead role in the Tamil film Sundara Pandian (2012). She has since received critical acclaim and multiple awards, including a Filmfare Award South, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and two SIIMA Awards for her performances.
The police are currently conducting a detailed investigation. Authorities continue to search for Lakshmi Menon and have urged anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.
