Pacer Kashvee Gautam, the most costly uncapped Indian purchase on the Women’s Premier League (WPL) public sale, says the wicket of Australian opener Alyssa Healy will convey her most joy within the upcoming version.
Gautam, the seamer from Chandigarh, was purchased for ₹2 crore by Gujarat Giants on the public sale on Saturday. She can also be a tough hitting batter.
“It’s quite unbelievable at the moment. I was travelling in the team bus after practice and was informed about the auction by a teammate. The amount kept rising and I was selected.
“It’s an enormous alternative for me to showcase my abilities. We have all the time regarded as much as Mithali ji. It’s a fantastic alternative for me to work together along with her and search ideas from her,” said Gautam, referring to Giants mentor Mithali Raj, who was at the auction table.
On the players she is excited about bowling to, Gautam said: “I feel Alyssa Healy or every other overseas batter like Hayley Matthews.” Gautam was not part of the opening WPL edition but she tracked the proceedings from the sidelines and learned from them too.
“I feel groups should be extra impactful within the decrease center order batting. They have to speed up within the final 3-4 overs, so I’ve practiced accordingly. I’ve labored on vary hitting.
