Without a probe, difficult to ascertain any data on oxygen-related loss of life: Sisodia writes to Mandaviya   

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday has written to Union Health Ministry stating that it’s difficult to ascertain if any oxygen-related loss of life occurred through the second wave of coronavirus with out a probe. 

“We are sending the file again to the Delhi LG for approval. We will carry out the probe with full responsibility and even punish those who were guilty. Earlier, through the LG (Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor), the Centre did not allow that committee to be formed.”

Sisodia mentioned the Delhi authorities had shaped a committee to probe the deaths and put together a report in order that the affected households might be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh every. “We cannot say that there was no oxygen crisis. The families of patients, hospitals were sending out SOS messages for help at that time,” he mentioned.

Delhi has recorded over 25,000 fatalities due to the an infection, he mentioned, including it is going to have to be probed what number of of those had been linked to the oxygen disaster throughout April and May.

On Wednesday, Sisodia had alleged that the Centre gave solely 12-14 hours to the Delhi authorities to furnish data on deaths due to oxygen scarcity through the second COVID-19 wave. The deputy CM’s assertion got here after Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya questioned the Delhi authorities’s declare of not having acquired any letter from the Centre inquiring about deaths due to oxygen scarcity and tweeted the communication despatched by his ministry on July 26 on this regard. 

In the communication acquired by the Delhi authorities on July 26, the Centre gave time until midday of the subsequent day to file the data, a mere 12-14 hours timeframe, Sisodia mentioned in response to Mandaviya’s tweet.
