ZURICH: Women’s World Cup winner Spain rose atop the FIFA rankings printed Friday after advancing to the ultimate 4 of the UEFA Nations League.
Spain completed high of a Nations League group this month that included Sweden, which had led the latest FIFA rankings printed in August after the Women’s World Cup.
Spain now could be No. 1 for the primary time, forward of the United States, France and World Cup finalist England. Sweden dropped 4 locations to No. 5.
FIFA stated Spain turned the fourth nation to high the ladies’s rankings since they have been created in 2003, following the U.S., Germany and Sweden.
Spain will play on the Nations League mini-event in February with France, Germany and the Netherlands. Two groups will be a part of host France on the Paris Olympics in July.
A complete of 192 of FIFA’s 211 member federations now function within the ladies’s rankings, FIFA stated.
