New Delhi: Veteran actress Zeenat Aman has shared a throwback image from 1977 saying it’s to encourage “evening plans” for Saturday.
Taking to Instagram, Zeenat shared a monochrome image wearing a neck plunging sequined gown. In the image, she may be seen combing her hair.
She shared the image with the caption: “Some Saturday glam to encourage your night plans! I’ve seen this picture of myself floating round on the Internet, and thought it might be good so as to add some context to it.
“The 12 months was 1977, and the forged and crew of Krishna Shah’s Shalimar had gathered on the Turf Club in Mumbai for the movie’s ‘mahurat’. It was a packed, high-profile occasion and everybody was dressed to the nines.
“My glorious silver gown was created by renowned costume designer Mani Rabadi based on a design of my own making. Its plunging neckline and sleek silhouette certainly turned some heads. In fact, Mani literally sewed me into the gown to give it that exquisite fit.”
Zeenat added: “We had a number of worldwide actors in attendance that day, together with Gina Lollobrigida. She later backed out of the manufacturing, amongst swirling rumours that we had locked horns. British actor Rex Harrison wasn’t on the occasion, however he was within the movie. One day on set, he informed me – ‘A phenomenal lady like it is best to get married instantly’. I had snigger over that. And for the report, I feel that is a horrible motive to get married.
“Shalimar didn’t quite dazzle the audience, but it was a thrilling adventure all the same. We shot the film in both English and Hindi, shooting each scene twice over.”
On the work entrance, Zeenat Aman is making her OTT debut quickly with the online collection ‘Showstopper’.
