At least two folks have been killed and two have been critically injured after a conflict broke out amongst prisoners in Punjab’s Sangrur jail on Friday, the police stated.
While the probe into the matter is at the moment underway, the police added that they’re attempting to establish what led to the clashes that injured the 4, with two of them succumbing to their accidents.
“We are investigating what led to the clashes between prisoners. Four inmates were injured in the incident, two of whom later succumbed at a hospital,” the official stated.
Further, chatting with reporters, a health care provider who has been treating the injured on the authorities hospital in Sangrur, stated, “A total of four patients were brought to this hospital from jail. Two were dead, and two people are in serious condition.”
Meanwhile, the inmates who died have been recognized as Harsh and Dharmender. While, the injured, recognized as Gagandeep Singh and Mohd Sehwaz, have been referred to a hospital in Patiala for additional remedy. According to the medical doctors, Gagandeep and Mohd Sehwaz have sustained critical accidents on their backs, heads, arms, and ears brought on by a pointy object.
